Chairman’s Report
Planning
In the last year of the council there was only one planning application that we were consulted on, which was approved, and two applications for Listed Building Consent which were also approved.
Filly Loo
The Filly Loo was held last year on 21st June and was the usual excellent evening providing useful funds for the village. Thanks to Andrew Featherstone and his committee for organising the event again and to all who helped setup, man and dismantle everything.
Pond
We have still not been able to find where the hole in the pond might be, but the water level rises encouragingly quickly when it rains but falls perhaps even more quickly when it does not!
Playground
Paul Whetham and his team have continued to look after the playground, for which many thanks. Unfortunately, with the Lockdown, he has had to put up a notice saying not to use.
Thanks
As in previous years I am grateful for the help and support I have received during the year from parish councillors and our Dorset Councillor, Jane Somper, who was elected last year.
As usual, our Clerk, Vivian Hitchmough, has been a great help to me and I am very grateful to her for all she does. Unfortunately, last year she said she wished to step down. Although Andrew and I have attempted to find a new Clerk our efforts have been hampered by the lockdown. When the rules are relaxed, we will renew our efforts. If anyone knows of someone who might like to become Clerk to Ashmore Parish Council, please let me know.
